The Philadelphia Eagles lose WR Steve Smith for the rest of the year
The Eagles have placed 26-year old WR Steve Smith on the Injured Reserve List, ending his season due to a bone bruise in his left knee. Smith played in 9 games for the Eagles this year and he caught 11 passes for 124 yards (11.3 avg) with 1 TD grab. He has now played in 55 games in his first five years in the NFL and he has caught 231 passes for 2,510 yards (10.9 avg) with 12 TD grabs. The Giants knew that Smith had a bad knee when they signed him, so it’s no surprise that he’s being shut down for a knee problem. He didn’t do much for the Eagles this year, so they won’t miss him too much.
