Philadelphia Eagles 40, New York Giants 17

The Philadelphia Eagles made a statement in this game and crushed the New York Giants.  The Eagles offense was able to make a bunch of huge plays, and it all started in the first quarter when Leanard Weaver darted 41 yards for a touchdown.  The Eagles built a big 17-0 lead early in the half and went into halftime up 31-7.  McNabb had a great game, throwing for 240 yards and three touchdowns on 17/23 attempts.  McNabb’s favorite target in this game was DeSean Jackson, who caught 3 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.  The touchdown came on a 54-yard strike from McNabb in the second quarter.  Brian Westbrook sat out with a concussion, but LeSean McCoy and Leonard Weaver did a great job filling in for him.  They combined for 157 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.

The Eagles defense did a very good job disrupting Eli Manning and the Giants passing game.  They picked off Manning twice, but he did find the endzone once.  He only completed about 50% of his passes though (20/39) and did not look very confident.  They did an okay job slowing their run game down, as Brandon Jacobs got 86 yards on 20 carries but did not score.  The special teams were able to recover a fumble too, so the Eagles got contributions from the whole team.  This was a big win for the Eagles as they completely outplayed the Giants in this one.

Philadelphia Eagles 27, Washington Redskins 17

The Philadelphia Eagles took it to the Redskins putting up all 27 of their points in the first quarter.  Donovan McNabb was efficient completing 15 of 25 passes for 156 yards with 1 TD pass.  Michael Vick also got some P.T. in this game as he completed his only pass attempt for 5 yards.  He also ran the ball 3 times for 9 yards (3.0 ypc) yesterday.  Lesean McCoy didn’t have his best game filling in for a injured Brian Westbrook as he carried the ball 14 times for 37 yards (2.6 ypc).  He also caught 5 passes for 30 yards (6.0 avg) against the Redskins.  Desean Jackson was the game changer for the Eagles in this game as he caught 2 passes for 69 yards (34.5 avg) with a TD and he also carried the ball 1 time and it went for a 67-yard TD.  Rookie WR Jeremy Maclin pitched in with 5 receptions for 53 yards (10.6 avg) in this game.  The Eagles finished up with 244 total yards on offense (122 rushing, 122 passing) as they only had possession of the football for 28:17 in this game.

The defense was in bend but don’t break mode last night.  LB Akeem Jordan led the way for the Eagles in this game with 10 tackles.  Will Witherspoon was electric in his first game with the Eagles as he finished up with 8 tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass defensed, 1 QB hit and he returned a interception 9 yards for a TD.  What a debut for Witherspoon!  DE Trent Cole was in the backfield a lot for the Eagles as he made 3 tackles, had 2 sacks, 2 tackles for a loss and he had 2 QB hits.  The Redskins finished up with 308 total yards on offense (62 rushing, 246 passing) in this game.  The Eagles are now 4-2 on the season.

Oakland Raiders 13, Philadelphia Eagles 9

What an awful game the Eagles played yesterday as they seemed to think they had another bye week.  Donovan McNabb was off in this game completing 22 of 46 passes for 269 yards.  Brian Westbrook was one of the few players who came to play for the Eagles in this game as he carried the ball 6 times for 50 yards (8.3 ypc) and he also caught 9 passes for 91 yards (10.1 avg).  Desean Jackson had a impressive game too with 6 grabs for 94 yards (15.7 avg).  TE Brent Celek pitched in with 4 receptions for 75 yards (18.8 avg) yesterday.  The Eagles finished up with 325 total yards on offense (116 rushing, 209 passing) in this game.

Linebackers Chris Gocong (10 tackles) and Omar Gaither (7 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss) led the way for the Eagles in this game.  CB Asante Samuel and safety Quintin Mikell each picked off a JaMarcus Russell pass in this game.  The Raiders finished up with 325 total yards of offense in this game (116 rushing, 209 passing).  The Eagles are now 3-2 on the season.

Philadelphia Eagles 33, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14

Donovan McNabb showed no signs of rust in his first game back for the Philadelphia Eagles (3-1) as they easily beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-5) Sunday at home.  McNabb, in his first game back from a broken rib, went for three touchdowns and 264 yards on 16/21 attempts (76%).  The Eagles didn’t even need a running game, as they killed the Bucs despite having only 76 rushing yards.  The Eagles got a great game from their secondary, as they had three interceptions off Buccaneers’ quarterback Josh Johnson.  Asante Samuels had two picks and Sheldon Brown had one.  The Eagles’ defense also got three sacks and pressured Johnson all game.  They also shut down Bucs’ running back Cadillac Williams, holding him to eight yards on 10 carries (0.8 avg).

The Eagles were up 31-7 in the fourth quarter, so Michael Vick got some extra opportunities at the quarterback position.  He completed his first pass of the year, going 1/3 for one yard.  He also carried the ball four times for 10 yards (2.5 avg).  The Eagles were obviously the better football team and proved it in almost every aspect of the game.  The Eagles will have an easy win coming again, when they take on the Oakland Raiders on the road Sunday.

The Eagles dominated this game from start to finish.  A lot of the younger players on offense really stepped up for the Eagles in this win.  It all starts with the QB and Kevin Kolb was sharp completing 24 of 34 passes for 327 yards with 2 TD passes and 0 INTs. Kolb also had a 1-yard TD run in this game.  Lesean McCoy stepped in for a injured Brian Westbrook and he carried the ball 20 times for 84 yards (4.2 ypc) with a TD and he also caught 1 pass for 9 yards.  WR Desean Jackson had another huge game against the Chiefs with 6 receptions for 149 yards (24.8 avg) with a TD grab.  TE Brent Celek was also really busy in this game with 8 receptions for 104 yards (13.0 avg) with a TD grab.  The Eagles finished up with 420 total yards on offense (93 rushing, 327 passing) in this game.

The Eagles’ defense was electric in this game.  LB Omar Gaither led the way with 9 tackles, a sack and a tackle for a loss.  DE Trent Cole also had a good game with 8 tackles, 1/2 a sack and a tackle for a loss.  The Chiefs could only muster 196 total yards on offense in this game (99 rushing, 97 passing).  The Eagles are now 2-1 on the season.
