The Philadelphia Eagles acquire Darryl Tapp from the Seahawks

The Eagles have signed 25-year old DT Darryl Tapp from the Seahawks for 28-year old DE/OLB Chris Clemons and a 4th round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.  Tapp played in all 16 games for the Seahawks last season in which he made 49 tackles, defensed 3 passes and he had 2.5 sacks.  Tapp has now played in 64 games in his NFL career in which he has made 186 tackles, defensed 12 passes, he has 18 sacks, forced 8 fumbles and he has 2 interceptions (1 returned for a TD).

Clemons played in all 16 games for the Eagles last season and he made 11 tackles, defensed 1 pass and he had 3 sacks.  I really like this trade for the Eagles as Tapp should really help them in 2010.

The Philadelphia Eagles sign Hank Baskett

The Eagles have brought back 27-year old WR Hank Baskett on a 1-year deal.  Baskett played in 12 games for the Colts & Eagles last season in which he caught 5 passes for 34 yards (6.8 avg).  He has now played in 59 games in his NFL career in which he has caught 76 passes for 1,080 yards (14.2 avg) with 6 TD grabs.  Baskett will have a tough time making the Eagles this season as they are pretty loaded at WR.

The Philadelphia Eagles sign Chad Hall

The Eagles have signed WR/KR Chad Hall to a three year deal.  Hall spent the last two years serving the Air Force as a second lieutenant.  Hall will have a good chance to win the job as the kickoff returner for the Eagles in 2010.  It’s always nice to see a player like Hall get a chance after serving his country.

The Philadelphia Eagles sign CB/S Marlin Jackson

The Eagles have signed 26-year old CB/S Marlin Jackson to a 2-year deal.  Jackson played in 4 games for the Colts last season in which he made 10 tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, he defensed 1 pass and he had 1 interception.  Jackson has now played in 56 games in his NFL career and he has made 284 tackles, has defensed 15 passes, has 1/2 a sack, forced 2 fumbles and he has 4 interceptions.  This was a good move for the Eagles as Jackson is a very physical defensive back.

The Philadelphia Eagles trade Reggie Brown to the Buccaneers

The Eagles have traded 29-year old WR Reggie Brown to the Buccaneers for a 6th round pick in 2011.  Brown played in 14 games for the Eagles last season and he caught 9 passes for 155 yards (17.2 avg).  He played in 72 games in his five years with the Eagles and he caught 177 passes for 2,574 yards (14.5 avg) with 17 TD grabs.  Brown also carried the ball 11 times for 68 yards (6.2 ypc) with 1 TD run for the Eagles.  A lot of the younger receivers on the Eagles have passed right by Brown on the depth chart so this was a smart trade probably for both teams.
