The Eagles have signed Dan Klecko with the idea of making him a full time fullback.  He played in 8 games last season for the Colts and he made 5 tackles and had 1 sack.  Klecko has now played in 47 games in his NFL career and he has made 42 tackles and has 3 sacks.  Klecko has also carried the ball 2 times for 5 yards (2.5 ypc) and he also has caught 4 passes for 20 yards (5.0 avg).  This was a good move for the Eagles as Klecko will be a good bodyguard for Brian Westbrook.

The Eagles have signed Chris Clemons to a 5-year, $18.5 million dollar contract.  Clemons played in 16 games last season for the Raiders and he made 20 tackles, defensed 1 pass, had 8 sacks and forced 2 fumbles.  Clemons has now played in 36 games in his NFL career and he has made 36 tackles, defensed 3 passes, sacked the QB 13 times and he has forced 4 fumbles.  This was a good signing for the Eagles as Clemons shows a lot of potential as a pass rusher.

The Philadelphia Eagles sign CB Asante Samuel

The Philadelphia Eagles signed CB Asante Samuel to a 6-year, $54 million dollar contract.  If Samuel reaches all of the incentives in his contract it will push the value to $60 million bucks.  Samuel played in 16 games last season for the Patriots and he made 46 tackles, defensed 18 passes and he picked off 6 passes including one that he returned for a TD.  Samuel has now played in 75 games in his NFL career and he has made 237 tackles, defensed 79 passes, forced 4 fumbles and he’s intercepted 22 passes.  This was a great signing for the Eagles as Samuel is an impact player at a position that they needed help at.
