Brian Westbrook carried the offense of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2007
Brian Westbrook did everything for the Eagles last season and he was the best player on their offense. Westbrook played in 15 games (all starts) last season for the Eagles and he carried the ball 278 times for 1,333 yards (4.8 ypc) with 7 TD runs. He also caught 90 passes for 771 yards (8.6 avg) with 5 TD grabs. Westbrook has now played in 85 games (64 starts) in his NFL career and he has carried the ball 1,014 times for 4,785 yards (4.7 ypc) with 27 TD runs. He also has caught 347 passes for 3,207 yards (9.2 avg) with 23 TD grabs. The Eagles need to keep Westbrook healthy in the future because he’s the player that really makes the offense go…..not Donovan McNabb.
Correll Buckhalter stayed healthy most of last season and he was productive as usual. Buckhalter played in 14 games (2 starts) last season for the Eagles and he carried the ball 62 times for 313 yards (5.0 ypc) with 4 TD runs. He also caught the ball 12 times for 87 yards (7.3 avg). Buckhalter has now played in 60 games (14 starts) in his NFL career and he has carried the ball 400 times for 1,786 yards (4.5 ypc) with 16 TD runs. He also has caught 59 passes for 606 yards (10.3 avg) with 2 TD grabs.
Rookie Tony Hunt looked overmatched on the rare occasion that he got to play. Hunt played in 8 games (0 starts) last season for the Eagles and he carried the football 10 times for 16 yards (1.6 avg) with 1 TD run.
Fullback Thomas Tapeh did a solid job of blocking but he didn’t get the ball much. Tapeh played in 16 games (8 starts) last season for the Eagles and he carried the ball 5 times for 18 yards (3.6 ypc). He also caught 8 passes for 50 yards (6.3 avg). Tapeh has now played in 39 games (16 starts) in his NFL career and he has carried the ball 22 times for 69 yards (3.1 ypc). He also has caught 26 passes for 150 yards (5.8 avg) with 1 TD grab.
Reno Mahe was signed to return punts so he didn’t get much playing time at running back. Mahe played in 15 games (0 starts) for the Eagles last season and he caught 1 pass for 11 yards. Mahe has now played in 55 games (1 start) in his NFL career and he has carried the ball 47 times for 196 yards (4.2 ypc). He also has caught the ball 33 times for 230 yards (7.0 avg).
