Philadelphia Eagles vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Eagles have lost 4 of their last 5 games and will have to go with Jeff Garcia at QB after Donovan McNabb’s devastating injury last week. The Colts lost their first game of the season last week and look to rebound at home.
The Eagles will likely try to run the ball more with Garcia at QB. Brian Westbrook (715 yards rushing) and Correll Buckhalter could cause huge problems for the Colts front 7 as the Colts are allowing 155.1 yards rushing per game and 4.9 yards per carry. Don’t think for a minute that Andy Reid won’t still have Garcia chucking the ball up in the air alot. LJ Smith and Brian Westbrook will work the short stuff, while Reggie Brown and Donte’ Stallworth will be challenging the Colts deep.
The Colts should be able to do anything they want against the Eagles defense. The Eagles allow 129.7 yards rushing per game and 4.2 yards per carry, so the combo of Joseph Addai (618 yards rushing) and Dominic Rhodes (414 yards rushing) should have some success. The Eagles defense kind of plays right into the Colts hands because of their frequent blitzing. The Colts have only allowed Peyton Manning to be sacked 12 times this season, and he’s a master at making teams that blitz him pay for it. Marvin Harrison (60 rec, 813 yards) and Reggie Wayne (55 rec, 885 yards) should both have good games. Also, Manning has been using his tight-ends (Ben Utecht and Dallas Clark) alot as of late.
The Colts should win this football game with ease. The drop from Donovan McNabb to Jeff Garcia is too steep for the Eagles offense not to suffer a bit.Â
