Eagles vs. 49ers

This should be an entertaining game between two teams that have excelled on offense but have had a little trouble with the D.

The Eagles have always been a pass-first team and this week will be no different. Donovan McNabb is off to a sizzling start throwing for 664 yards and 5 TDs in the first two weeks. Look for McNabb to nickel and dime early in the game throwing to RB Brian Westbrook and TE LJ Smith. Soon as the Niner defense cheats up a little, McNabb will shoot over the top to Donte’ Stallworth and Reggie Brown.

The Niners would prefer to run the football and keep the Eagles offense on the sideline. Frank Gore has been great this season rushing for 214 yards so far. QB Alex Smith looks like a totally different QB this season. With CBs Lito Sheppard and Rod Hood out, look for the 49ers to attack that side of the field with WR Arnaz Battle and Michael Robinson. Smith has been going deep to WR Antonio Bryant (8 rec, 245 yds.) and the Eagles will have to be aware of where he’s at all the time.

The Eagles should win, but I wouldn’t be shocked in the Niners pulled an upset.
