A.J. Feeley returns to the Eagles

A.J. Feeley has returned to the Eagles as he was signed yesterday.  Coach Reid knows how to get the best out of him, but other coaches have been unable to unlock the key.  Feeley is not a good practice player, but he usually rose to the challenge at game time with the Eagles.  Everywhere else, he played like he practiced.

Feeley has played in 18 games (13 starts) and completed 54.8% of his passes for 3,047 yards with 19 TDs and 21 INTs for a QB rating of 67.3.

The Eagles are locked and loaded at QB for the season.

Eagles cut two underachieving veterans

The Eagles cut two veteran players that just couldn’t cut it anymore.  WR Todd Pinskton aka “Mr. Alligator Arms” and Koy Detmer are gone and forgotten as they both have been released.

Current Eagles odds

The over/under for the Eagles is 8 1/2 wins.  The Eagles are 27-1 to win the Super Bowl and 11-1 to win the NFC.

I would probably not bet the over or the under as my projections show the Eagles winning 8 games this season.

Eagles acquire WR Donte’ Stallworth

The Philadelphia Eagles acquired WR Donte’ Stallworth from the Saints for back-up linebacker Mark Simoneau and a conditional 4th round pick, the pick could be a third-rounder if Stallworth plays well.  The Eagles really needed a receiver to play opposite Reggie Brown and took a good gamble on Stallworth.  Stallworth is only signed for this season, so he could have a big year as he starts a salary drive.

Stallworth has played in 56 games (33 starts) and has caught 195 passes for 2,791 yards (14.3 avg) and 23 TDs.

Eagles defeat Steelers 16-7

The Eagles looked ok winning their game Friday over the Steelers.  Donovan McNabb looked good completing 7 of 9 passes for 79 yards.  Koy Detmer followed and completed 4 of 8 passes for 32 yards.  Jeff Garcia finished up and looked good.  Garcia completed 6 of 12 passes for 110 yards and a TD.

Running back Correll Buckhalter had a good game, which was great to see.  Buckhalter ran for 31 yards on 7 carries (4.4 ypc) and caught 4 passes for 16 yards.

WR Greg Lewis had a good game and solidified his spot on the Eagles roster as he caught 2 passes for 91 yards and a TD.

The Eagles defense was just ok despite only allowing 7 points.  The Eagles gave up 108 yards rushing on 3.6 yards per carry against the Steelers.  The Steelers completed 65.9% of their passes for 205 net yards.

Overall, a very satisfying win for the Eagles.
